Our work in Primary Schools
Numerous assemblies on many different themes are taken throughout the year in primary schools in Ipswich and the surrounding area. These assemblies often fit in with the schools’ programmes of Collective Worship.
Invitations are sometimes received from primary schools for CYM staff to attend themed RE days or to lead lessons on ‘What do Christian’s believe?’
Schools which send children to African Adventure often receive a pre-visit and follow-up assembly and a pre-visit lesson to introduce the children to rural life in African countries such as Mozambique, Zambia, Kenya and Malawi.
ALFA (About Life, Faith and Action) is a lunch time club for Years 3-6, run between 12:00 – 12:30 at St. Margaret’s Primary School, Ipswich. It aims to teach the children about the Bible and the Christian faith in a fun and relevant way. It provides a safe and friendly environment for children to spend lunch with other children in their school who are exploring their faith too. It is run with the help of a teaching assistant from the school.
